The semi-annual indie art and craft fair celebrated local makers and artisans — and became so popular they opened a brick and mortar store two years later. Now, they celebrate Toledo creators year-round and you can, too! The Maker Shoppe focuses on the work of local and regional independent designers, makers, and artisans by creating an outlet for them in a place that has the same soft spot in their hearts for DIY. In 1965, Ken Cappelletty opened a small cut flower shop in Toledo, Ohio. Today, there are four shops in the Toledo area, including one in Michigan. You can shop online and get your selection delivered worldwide or stop in at the original shop to say hello and pay homage to a local Toledo classic. Leo Marks has an interesting history in the Toledo jewelry business. Leo originally opened his store all the way back in 1916. After Leo passed on, his wife operated the business until it was sold to Philip Wasserstrom in 1962. Philip’s son Joe is now the owner and is driven by his experience and passion for the business. Over the years, the store has moved all over the city, but has always maintained their high quality jewelry and distinct pieces. Lily’s at Levis is an independently owned home goods store in Perrysburg. They have artisanal jewelry, soaps and candles, as well as art and home decor products that will make your home warm and personable this year. Whether you’re shopping for yourself, looking for a gift for others, or just want to spice up your home, Lily’s at Levis has just what you’re looking for!
