Sylvania’s Olander Park is a hub for recreational activities, exploration, and education. It’s conveniently located next to Tam-O-Shanter at 6930 W Sylvania Avenue and open year-round at 7:00am. This 60-acre oasis offers a 28-acre lake, playgrounds, volleyball courts, and a 1.1 mile paved, ADA-accessible loop around the scenic lake.

Water activities are a central focus of Olander Park. In addition to fishing, visitors can rent paddle boats, rowboats, kayaks, or stand up paddleboards. Park goers are also permitted to bring their own boats as long as they have a small, electric motor.

The Lake Olander Swim Beach can be accessed by Sylvania School District residents for $3 and by non-residents for $5. If you’re planning lots of summer swim days, individual and family memberships are also available to lower the admission cost. June through August 1st, the beach is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from noon-6:00pm; and Fridays and Saturdays noon-7:00pm. Mid-August through Labor Day it’s only open during the weekend.
