Downtown Toledo has had some incredible improvements over the years. One of the most exciting recent additions to the area is Glass City Metropark. Located at 1001 Front Street on the former site of the Acme Power Plant, this premier park has elevated Toledo's riverfront green space. In total, Glass City Riverwalk will include 300 acres of land and five miles of multi-use trails spanning both sides of the Maumee River. The various nodes of this project are connected by Veteran's Glass City Skyway, MLK Bridge, and Anthony Wayne Bridge.
Glass City Riverwalk enhances the area's health and natural space. More than 90 acres of industrial or vacant land will be restored by planting over 20,000 new trees along the river. In addition, the creation of the Riverwalk allows 32,440 residents from surrounding neighborhoods to live within 1 mile of a safe, clean green space.
The completed phases have already breathed new life into the area, and there's so much more to come! Check out the impressive transformation as well as the planned improvements that Toledo has in store.
